Tulips 2011

Image
Last weekend my family visited the Tulip Festival in Skagit County, WA, which is about a half hour's drive south of Bellingham.  After a cold, rainy month, we were blessed with a sunny day to enjoy the tulips.  We walked around the lovely gardens at RoozenGaarde to enjoy the many tulip and daffodil varieties.  I especially liked these full, frilly daffodils. The tulips were all identified with markers so customers could easily identify their favorites to purchase bulbs for their own gardens.  The variety was amazing! Hope everyone else had a lovely Easter weekend too! Cindy

Painting Practice

Image
I've been thinking about doing some watercolor paintings for my Etsy shop .  I haven't painted for a long time and was surprised at how difficult this simple painting became.  So today's painting is just a practice piece to warm up and re-establish those connections between eyes, brain, and hands. I was planning to start with a carrot, then paint this lovely red pepper.  But I needed the pepper for tonight's dinner, so it got to go first. And since I haven't painted for so long, I fiddled with it for way too long, so the carrot will have to wait for tomorrow. Cindy
